1970 Boss 429 Mustang Brings Almost 1/4 Mil$$ at Barrett-Jackson
Check out this Grabber Orange Boss 429 mustang went for $247,500.00. Russ Davis Ford of LA, ordered two Grabber Orange Boss 429 Mustangs in 1970 and ordered them for local drag racing in the area. One was totaled during it’s racing duties, and this is the other.
Why so much? Well apparently back in the day Ford was running the 429 Boss at NASCAR and the boys over there asked Ford to put this monster into one of it’s cars so that they could be offered to the public. That way the engine could be sanctioned and raced. Ford still trying to slap Mopar with some heavy-hitting muscle to compete with it’s Himi decided the Mustang was the car, and the 429 Boss Mustang was built.
This monster Mustang became an instant classic muscle car! With the ability to run up to 8k on the tac, and with some mods they could produce around 800 hp naturally aspirated, so of course the old car killed it on the track.
This special car delivered massive horsepower and torque made history as the big dog at the auction. Keep an eye out for one of these in our inventory and you could have a piece of muscle car history!

1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429

The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 was completely misconstrued. Their particular engine was thought to be one that could win out in a race with the Chevy Corvette, but it couldn’t. It wasn’t able to do as well on the racetracks or in the eyes of consumers that wanted the fastest out there. (more…)
